Valentina Gulin Zrnić, PhD, research advisor (Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research)

Valentina Gulin Zrnić is research advisor at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research in Zagreb. She holds a PhD in ethnology and cultural anthropology from the University of Zagreb (2004). Her focus is on urban anthropology, anthropology of place and space, identity studies, Mediterranean studies, history of Croatian ethnology, methodological and fieldwork issues, interdisciplinary approaches (literary anthropology, historical anthropology, anthropology of architecture, environmental anthropology). She is the author of the book “Kvartovska spika. Značenja grada i urbani lokalizmi u Novom Zagrebu” (Talk of the Neighbourhood: Meanings of City and Urban Localisms in Novi Zagreb) which is awarded by Croatian ethnological society’s annual prize.
