The article entitled Symbols, processes, conflicts: contribution to discussions about Croatian identity (published in Croatian) by Jasna Čapo is a critical assessment of writings about Croatian identity in the past two decades. Based on theoretical literature on identification processes, the article distinguishes three main approaches to identity-making among Croatians: inventory-like, (de)constructionist and instrumental approaches. The conclusions sketch a politics of Croatian identity. The article has been published in the volume Others: alterity, identity, contact in Croatian language, literature and culture (44. Zagreb School of Slavic Studies).
