Project “50/68. Images of Utopia”
In cooperation of the project “Citymaking: space, culture and identity” and the EU project CreArt, with the Croatian association of fine artists as its national partner, an artistic-research project“50/68. Images of Utopia”, has been developed. The project marks the 50th anniversary of 1968. Marko Pašalić, the author of the artistic segment, has aimed at researching the current attitudes towards the memory and heritage of 1968, as well as ways in which certain artists experience and interpret it. Five renowned Croatian artists, Miran Blažek, Tea Hatadi, Kata Mijatović, Vlatko Vincek and Dino Zrnec, will present their artistic interventions at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. The interventions and the social dynamics triggered by them will function as case studies researched by students of the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, under the supervision of Nevena Škrbić Alempijević and Sanja Potkonjak. Students of the visual communications design at the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences will also be involved in the project, under the guidance of lecturer Vesna Uglješić.
On March 21, 2018, which is marked as the European Day of Artistic Creativity, public guided tours, which will connect the locations of artistic interventions, will be organized. They will start at 12:00, 14:00 and 16: 00 at the main hall of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. They will be accompanied by short presentations held by the project participants. The results of the project will be presented at a conference, which will include an extended list of participants. The conference will take place on May 25, 2018 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The results will also be presented in a written form, in the frame of a book.
