Team members of the project “City-making: space, culture and identity” – Jasna Čapo Žmegač, Nevena Škrbić Alempijević, Petra Kelemen, Tihana Rubić i Valentina Gulin Zrnić – are honoured by the Croatian Ethnological Society for their contribution to ethnological and cultural-anthropological discipline in national and international scope.
The award has recognized immense and devoted work implemented in the organization of the 12. congress of the International Society for Ethnologists and Folklorists (SIEF) “Utopias, realities, heritages: Ethnographies for the 21st century” which was held in Zagreb, 21-25 June 2015.
Jasna Čapo Žmegač was a member of the International Scientific Committee and acted as a president of the National/local organization committee and also delivered a keynote lecture at the Congress. Nevena Škrbić Alempijević was a member of the Scientific Committee and of the National/local organization committee. Petra Kelemen, Tihana Rubić and Valentina Gulin Zrnić were members of the National /local organization committee, but also organized and convened thematic panels during the Congress.
The award to the members of the National organization committee was delivered by the president of the Croatian Ethnological Society on December 4, 2015 at the gallery “Klovićevi dvori”. Beside project team members the honoured members of the National organization committee are Marijana Belaj, Sanja Potkonjak, Naila Ceribašić and Tvrtko Zebec.
The project is financially supported by the Croatian Science Foundation which enabled the organization of thematic panels on politics of differences and politics of public spaces, publishing of working material and hosting international academics at the Congress.
