On 28 April 2016 Tihana Rubić held a lecture titled Ethnographies of urban unemployment. The Organiser was the Section for qualitative research methods of the Croatian Sociological Association. The presentation took place at the Association of University Teachers in Zagreb and was based on ethnographic research examples. It had a focus on qualitative research methods and the characteristics of recent and contemporary urban unemployment and the informal economy. How have the individual experiences of unemployment and the informal economy been formed in the context of the city as a place and space, and vice versa – in which ways long-term unemployed, as well as the related phenomena of social legitimization and stigmatization, shaped the city as a place and space?
